We all have dreams, unfortunately, not everyone has the guts to pursue those dreams.  So many of us walk around unhappy in our lives because we are constantly trying to be what everyone else wants us to be.  We take on careers that our families believe work best for us, we dress the way that society says that we should dress, we speak and act in ways that would appeal to our peers even if by doing these things we are contributing to our own unhappiness.

If you look back over your life I can guarantee that there are so many opportunities that you have passed on account of what your family or friends may think or say.  There are probably 100 ideas and dreams that you wanted to pursue but decided against trying because the people around you did not support your ideas or may have thought that your dreams were unreachable and unrealistic.

Mekka Don, an attorney turned rapper, faced the same dilemmas when he made the conscious decision to pursue his music career after finishing Law School.

Mekka mentioned that when he first decided to make the drastic career change he was fearful of what his peers might think but was overall more concerned with his own happiness. I am sure that Mekka Don is extremely happy that he stepped out on faith as he has recently been named an “MTVu Freshman” for his single and video “Dirty”. The video has been on constant rotation on several music stations and he has been featured in just as many publications including Source, nahright.com, HipHopDX.com and many more.
