Rodney King Found Dead At Bottom of Pool; Dies At 47

After surviving the brutal and life-threatening beating, several fights with drug addiction and alcohol, Rodney King has been found dead at the bottom of a pool in Rialto, CA.

According the police officials, his fiancée found him dead at the bottom of the pool and immediately called law enforcement.  Upon arrival, King’s body was pulled from the water and CPR was done in hopes to revive him.  All attempts failed and King was pronounced dead at 6:11am

Rodney King gained fame 20 years ago after a video of him being severely beaten by members of the Los Angeles Police Department surfaced via a bystander who witnessed the brutal beating.  The four police officers featured on the amateur shot video were ultimately acquitted of all charges which ignited one of the worst riots in L.A. history. King would eventually earn a very large and hefty settlement in the amount of $3.8 million from the city of Los Angeles, unfortunately due to poor money management Rodney blew through the money a few years later.
