It’s Mr. Steal Your Girl! Oh, Really? So, You Proud of That?

By on

I have been irked lately by the many songs and people talking about stealing someone’s girl or man. Listen, people are not commodities and property like cars, cash, and clothes. If you are in a relationship and that person leaves you for someone else, that ’s their own conscious decision. No matter how much we see Drake and Chris Brown fight over Rihanna or hear song after song with dudes claiming to be able to “steal your girl” ( Yes, Trey Songz I am referring to you), that is a bunch of bull. No one can steal a person (unless it’s actual kidnapping).  When a person walks away from their current relationship, whatever the reason, it boils down to them walking because they wanted to do so.

Growing up, I have seen it time and time again. Two crazy chicks go at it fighting over some man. Each female claims that he “belonged” to them.  As much as this drama can make for good television like Love and Hip Hop or whatever Reality television show, this is utter nonsense.  As much as people love to see cheaters get called out on Jerry Springer and people fight over a loved one, stealing a person is a misnomer because more likely than not the person cheated because they wanted to do it.

So girl, get off your high horse or brother shut up.  You are not that fine, not that smart, and not that paid to be going around stealing people’s mate. I say this because if you were truly “all that and then some” , then why do you not have someone of your own? The next time a woman or a man comes with that bull saying they are going to steal your mate from you tell them to keep it moving.  If someone comes your way and they are the “other” person your current boo is messing with tell your future ex to kick rocks.

I don’t know how you all feel about being played by someone or being a third wheel in a love triangle but it is not for me.  Been there done that.  No one really wins in the situation.  So what you got someone I was supposed to be with!  Two dirty dogs lying together do not impress me.  Being faithful is what impresses me.

It says a lot about someone’s character if they go around messing with people’s relationships or announcing to the world that they “took” someone from their spouse. (I can’t believe some of these trifling people do it on television).  If you are proud to be trash, that is so sad.  Someone like you needs to be in the dumpster where trash belongs.
