Empire State building Shooting

Getting up and preparing for work in the morning no longer just involve showering, brushing your teeth, getting dressed, grabbing something to eat and heading out the door.  It seems more and more you have to make sure that you grab a bullet proof vest to that routine just in case something ignorant happens.

This morning word spread across the nation about a shooting that occurred outside the Empire State Building in New York (hold the Jay-z song, this is real).  According to NBCNews, a disgruntled employee of one of the 1,000 businesses housed inside of the Empire State Building opened fire injuring at least 10 people before his own life was taken.  It is unknown whether or not his death was self-inflicted or if he was killed by the police who arrived on the scene.

From NBCNews,

A law-enforcement official said the shooting did not appear to be terror-related, and may have been the actions of a disgruntled employee of a business in the Empire State Building, which houses 1,000 businesses.

The FDNY told NBC News they responded to a call about the shooting at Fifth Avenue and 34th Street at 9:07 a.m. Friday and arrived at 9:13 a.m.
