Evelyn Lozada Files For Divorce After Being Headbutted By Husband Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson

The blogging/media world has been in a frenzy on the heels of the recent domestic dispute between newlywed couple Evelyn Lozada [Basketball Wives Miami] and Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Jonshon.

Reports surfaced over the weekend about an altercation between the two that supposedly started after Evelyn Lozada found a receipt for condoms in the backseat of her husbands car. Sometime after, an altercation ensued which resulted in Evelyn being head-butted by Chad. Chad was arrested the night of August 12th on domestic violence charges where he received his ‘this is what happens when you put your paws on people’ photo-shoot.

The fight is rumored to be over a receipt for condoms found in Chad’s Mazerati which leaves a lot of people wondering if that was really what the fight was about seeing as how Evelyn pretty much gave Chad the green light to cheat so long as he used ‘condoms’ and informed her of what he was doing.

According to Chad, the head-butt was accidental and occurred sometime during the heated argument that took place on their way home from dinner. The he say-she-say continues as Chad is adamant that the head-butt took place as she leaned closer to him while Evelyn made a statement suggesting that it was him who leaned forward.

Chad was held in jail over the weekend until he was able to stand in front of judge while Evelyn was seen at Westside Regional Medical Center in Plantation, Florida where she received several stitches for her head wound before she was released to go home, but the drama did not end there.

After a night in jail, Chad had his chance in front of a judge who granted Chad bail [$2,500] in addition to ordering Chad to stay away from his wife. Immediately after he was released, we received word that the Miami Dolphins, who Chad had been training with after only a few months of being signed to the team, officially released Chad from the team.

Not only has Chad now been dropped from what he and many others consider to be his ‘last chance to play professional football’, word was also released via VH1 reps that the upcoming season of the Ev and Ocho due to air this September has officially been shelved and will not be seeing the light of day.

Evelyn released an official statement yesterday about the tragic event stating that Chad has yet take responsibility for his actions:

“It is with great sadness and much trepidation that I release this statement addressing the domestic violence incident that happened this past Saturday,” the reality star wrote in an email via her publicist. “I am deeply disappointed that Chad has failed to take responsibility for his actions and made false accusations against me, it is my sincere hope that he seeks the help he needs to overcome his troubles. Domestic violence is not okay and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well. I’m grateful to my family, friends and fans for the outpouring of support during this difficult time,” she wrote.

This statement was then followed up by reports released today that after only 6 weeks of marriage, Evelyn has officially filed for divorce in a Florida court citing that her marriage is “irretrievably broken”. According to court documents, there was a pre-nup signed [not that it would matter].

Good for her. You for sure, cant call this one a “gold digger”. She walked away from a lot of money, a TV show and a lot of other things I am sure. She seems strong. We may never know what happened on that night but we can truly see who is the “bigger man” in this case. You go lady!
