Erykah Badu Shades Nicki Minaj During Brooklyn Afro Punk Performance: “You don’t BEEZ In The Trap”

There are a million reasons why are I love Erykah Badu but the undisputed Queen of Neo-Soul just gave me one more reason to add to that list.

Never one to mince words or hold back her thoughts, Erykah Badu let New York native Nicki Minaj know just how she felt about her, in her own city.  In the middle of her performance, Erykah broke it down with her own rendition of Nicki Minaj’s “Beez In The Trap”.

In a very unimpressed voice, Erykah belted out:

Cheese in the trap, cheese in trap, cheese cheese in the trap..b*tch you don’t BEEZ in the trap!

This was then followed by a mini freestyle courtesy of Erykah Badu with the crowd going wild.

 

I am sure Erykah will state that this was not meant as a diss or a negative gesture towards Nicki, but I can see right through the shade and it is there…

I can imagine Nicki is somewhere on Twitter looking like this:
